How much have you spent on apps and media on your iPhone? Can you remember everything you ever bought? Probably not. Your iPhone can though. See your purchase history by year and month.
You can probably remember what you bought on your iPhone last week, last month or even this year. Can you remember what you bought last year, the year before, or in September 2012? Our memories become fuzzy the further back we try to remember and it is impossible to recall everything we every bought on the iPhone. Fortunately, it tracks and records every purchase.
If you want to know exactly what you bought and when, there are two methods to show the details. One is a simple app list and the other is a very detailed record of every little detail about every purchase, ever!
Are there some purchases you would rather not be so easily seen? If you lend your phone to someone, they could see what you bought and when. Fortunately, there is a way to hide purchases like apps and media so they are not so immediately obvious.
It is useful to know how to see your purchase history, so let’s take a look at the two methods.
See your purchase history on the iPhone
- Open the App Store
- Tap your account icon in the top right corner of the screen
- Press Purchased
- Press My Purchases
- Select the All tab to see all apps
- Select the Not on this iPhone tab to see apps you purchased, but have since deleted from the iPhone

Going through App Store > Purchased > My Purchased shows a list of app purchases in date order with the newest first. If you have had your iPhone a long time, there could be hundreds of items in the list and there are no dates, prices or any other details. It is just a list of apps, both paid and free, installed or not installed.
Any purchased apps that are not on the iPhone have a cloud icon next to them. Press it to download the app again. Remember that apps are often updated, so one that you tried some time ago and didn’t like, may have changed and could be much better now. They may be worth trying again. Paid apps can be downloaded again without having to pay again.
This is useful for looking at recent purchases or seeing which free or paid apps are no longer on the iPhone, but it is no use for seeing how much you spent and when, or for very old purchases.
Hide purchases on the iPhone
- Open the App Store
- Tap your account icon in the top right corner of the screen
- Press Purchased
- Press My Purchase
- Swipe left over an app
- Press the Hide button

This is just one step further than the previous steps to show purchases. Once you get to the screen with the list of purchased apps, just swipe left over one and tap Hide to remove it from the list. It does not uninstall the app, it just hides the purchase.
Browse your purchase history on the iPhone
- Open the Settings app
- Press your name at the top of the screen
- Press Media & Purchases
- Press View Account
- Press Purchase History
- Press Last 90 Days
- Press the year you want to view
- Press All or press a month to see purchases

This method of showing purchases enables you to browse the most recent 90 days purchases or to select a year and a month to view purchases made at that time. If you have had your iPhone for many years, you can look up what you bought in all of 2013, June 2011 and so on.
Everything you ever bought is listed and not only apps for the iPhone, but also apps for the Apple Mac, and music and videos too. This is a way to see everything.
Unlike the previous method of viewing your purchase history, this method shows how much you paid for each item. Tap the > next to the price and the complete purchase order is displayed, showing the order ID, document number, date, billing address and the last four digits of the credit card used. More details are available about the item by pressing the > next to the price.
See or show hidden purchases on the iPhone
- Open the Settings app
- Press your name at the top of the screen
- Press Media & Purchases
- Press View Account
- Press Hidden Purchases
- View or unhide hidden purchases

You cannot see hidden purchases in Settings > App Store, you must go through Settings > Your Account > Media & Purchases > Hidden Purchases. This is so that it is protected by account security. You will not notice if you use Face ID, but if someone else uses your phone, they will not be able to see hidden purchases or unhide them.
